- Familiar chat — Bigger text, faces on messages, timestamps tucked inside the bubble, a double tick that turns teal once everyone has read it, tapback reactions with haptics, and “joined the session” lines.
- Read receipts — Swipe left on one of your own messages to see who has read it and when. Swipe right anywhere to go back.
- Card and header — On Today the chat card has a larger face, a two-line preview, and a deeper shadow. The thread header groups the crew by family instead of listing individuals.
- Notification controls — Session-chat notifications can be turned off for yourself in Pod settings, and if the phone’s notifications are off the app says so and links to Settings.
- Fixes — Swiping the thread sideways is stable, and the text field stays put when sending photos.
